I have used this method to hide large safes and gun safes and even have hidded a full room armory in a basement of which holds several thousand dollars worth of art and weapons. Do this as close to the corner of the book case as possible and on the lock side. This being small it is easy to hide by either books or artical that a thief would not be to interested in moving thus seeing the small rod. You will have to attach the molding proud of the hinge barrels so it will pass over the hinge without binding. The only other issue that I had was to conceal the hinge barrels from view and I did this by creating some molding that attached to the book case side and extended outward over the hinge. To keep the door closed I have used a heavy duty adjustable ball catch that only requires a pull to open and a push to close.

I did this because of the heavy weight the book case and books and items that are placed on the book case shelves. To make it work easier I changed out the hinges to the 4 inch ball bearing heavy duty style and used long screws to mount the hinge through the door casing and directlyu into the framing. You hidden door with a book case works well as I have done a few of these before using a steel door of which I secured the door in the framing by mounting the hinge side against the 2 X framing. I only rip my sheet good down and do the cross cutting on the slide table on my table saw. I throw it up a couple saw horses and rip my sheet goods without any difficulty as the adjustments allow me to adjust the grid members to fit the cuts and maintain support on both sides of the cut. I have bored the holes oversized allowing me to move the grid member to different areas of the platform. I made a seperate grid using 2圆 by 8ft material that floats on steel pipe of which runs at 90 degrees to the sides.
I have a similiar type cutting bench made of 2圆 x 10 ft material that is ridgid on the sides and ends. I watched the video and it covered several good points on cutting.
